Born 1982 in Tripoli Libya, to Amazigh roots from both my mother and father’s side of the family. I received a BFA with distinction, majoring in Design Art from Concordia University in 2007. Through my lighthearted photographs to graphic intervention to video and installations, I question my own place within a so-called Western culture on the one hand and an upbringing in a Muslim household on the other.

Based in Montreal Qc. where I live and work.

* My father spoke several languages and so please be mindful of this as he describes this painting in English. The words he was looking for were 'grape vines', 'arbour' and 'courtyard' to describe the setting of this 'Gathering' which in Arabic is called 'Mahder' and is held on Fridays.
